To avoid overthinking first understand what is overthinking, basically, it is a destructive thought pattern humans experience on the consequences without any formal action. There are various ways to get rid of the habit of overthinking, like watching TV, playing video games, or listening to music. Here are a few simple things you can do to free yourself from this habit. 1. Take a walk, observe the people observe the activities around you, count your steps, and talk to someone, the body can take your mind off temporarily, from the habit of overthinking. Anything that keeps your mind occupied with some activity that doesn’t allow you to overthink is okay. 2. Watch yourself when you overthink and see how time and energy-consuming it is, how you are behaving passively, instead of actively. 3. Engage yourself in creative activities like painting, drawing learning musical instruments, and try to fix your attention on what you are doing and avoid being absent-minded. 4. Write down your thoughts on a paper, and see how you can end up the thought with a better solution, once you start doing you'll find there is nothing you can do about things without action. take action on the thoughts which bother you if it has a solution then make it happen if it is not then, tell yourself it's a waste and the mind will adopt the attitude and overthinking will fade away.
